2019 Blanc De Noirs

2019 Blanc De Noirs
Méthode Traditionnelle Brut

Blanc de Noirs is a term used for sparkling wine that means "white from red." The fruit selected for this special release comes from our estate grown vineyard of Pinot Noir from the Clarksburg AVA.

From bud break to bottle, beginning with hand picked and sorted premium fruit, the journey of our 2019 Blanc De Noirs began in Napa Valley in August 2020

About Méthode Traditionnelle:

The traditional method is the process used in the Champagne region of France to produce Champagne. The method is known as the méthode champenoise, but the Champagne producers have successfully lobbied the European Union to restrict the use of that term within the EU only to wines produced in Champagne.  Thus, wines from elsewhere cannot use the term "méthode champenoise" on products sold in the EU, and instead the term "traditional method" (méthode traditionnelle) or the local language equivalent. As the traditional method is both labour and cost intensive, it is only viable for high-end sparkling wines.

The only two red grapes permitted for use in Champagne wines are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
